Man jailed for selling knock-off pet food

A former pet food salesman who sold fake versions of Royal Canin, Pro Plan and CATSAN online has been sentenced to 10 months in jail and fined 40,000 yuan ($6,500), Shanghai Daily reports.

The man, surnamed Wang, opened an online store selling "branded pet food" as sub-market prices in April 2012. Reportedly making profits of over 60,000 yuan ($9,860). Wang was raided in his home in Shanghai's Qingpu district on March 20 last year. Pet food, packaging materials and sealing machines were confiscated by police.
