Tai chi. From movie heroes in Hollywood kung fu flicks to middle-aged men in the narrow homely alleys of China, it seems everyone knows a move or two from this ancient martial art.

Tai chi, which has deep ties with the Chinese philosophy of Taoism, is all about overcoming firmness through gentleness and taming the fast with the slow. To those on the outside, this martial art has always been profound, and in a sense, unfathomable.

You’ll wear traditional robes as a grandmaster trains you on how to perform the seemingly gentle, slow and agile movements of tai chi, which in actuality contain substantial power.

Later, you’ll hike up the mountain ridges and valleys to explore a camp hidden in the hills. It is here that you’ll discover the birthplace of a famous compendium of wu gong kung fu techniques!

Following a day of trekking through the mountains, you’ll enjoy a tasty BBQ feast with all the new friends you’ll meet along the way. Afterwards, enjoy card and board games under the dazzling mountain night sky.
