Feb 14: Rollmantic Valentine's Day

Equally good for couples and singles, head over to our favorite roller rink-cum-cocktail bar RIINK if you're looking to mix it up on Valentine's Day. Refuel with Cupid's love shots, selected cocktails and a snacktastic food platter featuring salmon pole bites, truffled egg salad, gouda cheese meatballs, chicken popsicles, seafood rolls and fries. Couples get free skates while singles can enjoy a free shot before rolling their loneliness away.

If you're looking for some straight up dance tonight, SHFT is throwing the "biggest bad ass Valentine's party in the city" with a live performance from pixie dream girl, emo princess Velvetears, with a cute, special DJ set from local favorite Louie Louie.

Whether you're single or taken, Le Baron is keeping its doors open tonight to welcome all those looking to get down... or something like that. If you're with your partner, it's BOGO, so makes for a cheaper after dinner drink with good music after spendin' all that dough on your meal. If you're by yourself, it's still BOGO, so makes for a cheaper way to get some drinks in ya. Before midnight that is, then it's back to regular prices (with good music).

If you're into Afro desert fusion, then you're going to want to hit this month's Xia. Percussion, guitar, vocals and "visual wizardry" will come together for a live show and a break from their usual programming.

Feb 15: GG Lobster x Function Lab

Born beneath the sign of twin fish, GG Lobster has been trashing around the peaceful, historical waterways of Hangzhou for some time now. His latest release, Punk Rock Karaoke, makes trippy electrified updates to songs by such punk behemoths as The Clash, Sex Pistols and The Ramones. Partnering with Genome 6.66MBP and Function Lab, this show combines experimental production with live music for a heavy set in Shelter's little brother.

Feb 15-16: The 90's R&B Concert Sequel

Beepers, baggy pants, crop tops, floppy disks, Lexus sedans and another round of 90's R&B. Shanghai's house of funk and soul takes it back to back in the day, with an all-new concert featuring the music of Mary J Blige, Blackstreet, Janet, Destiny's Child, Mariah Carey, Faith Evans and lots more. Singer/producer Courtney Knott directs and stars in this show, joined by Shake's six-piece band. Dressing up in living colors highly encouraged. Sounds from new jack swing to hip hop soul and beyond. Live music from 10.30pm.

Feb 16: China Social Club

PCJ of Aussie-backed China Social Club is playing with Endy Chen and Jiafeng for a night of disco not disco, techno, internet culture, weird ass sounds and so so so much to dance to. Honestly, not even fully sure what to expect here, but we like all three of these guys, so it should be a super solid one. Could get real funky real fast.

WOOBAR at The W is kicking off their "No Rockstars" series with Nottingham native Citizenn. His RNB tinged sci-fi house will be bolstered by techno sets for an "intimate" gathering just north of the Bund.

Feb 16: Andy Hart

Alter. has invited one of the most influential faces of the Australian music scene, Andy Hart, to ring in the Year of the Pig and hit the decks, just for you. He's the founder of the world-acclaimed label Voyage, former member of the famous Melbourne Deepcast and one-third of the collective Wax'o Paradiso - who've been organizing parties in Melbourne for years at the infamous Social Club down under. Plus he's into sci-fi.
