The man behind Brawl on the Bund will finally be the man in the ring at Brawl on the Bund.
We must admit, when we announced the match-ups for the December 2 event, Bout 3 did slightly confuse us:
Well it turns out 'Sugar' Ray Leonard is in fact none other than 'Sugar' Shane Benis, CEO of China Sports Promotions, organizer of Brawl on the Bund and the trainer they call The Punisher.
So will he punish or be punished come the night? In his own words:
This December 2nd, I’m getting in the ring at Brawl On The Bund ‘White Party’ to raise money for More Than Aware. My opponent, the dangerous looking southpaw Mr. Bean, has agreed to give me three rounds in front of the 1,000 guests, and millions of live streaming viewers in China we will have watching on the night.
You can read more on Benis' motivation in his post right here. No news on who mysterious southpaw Mr. Bean is yet. Could it be...
Returning to Puxi in December, the bout will take place during a special 'dress in white' themed night at W Shangahai — The Bund,
with tables starting at RMB9,000 and going up to RMB20,000 for
ringside. All tickets purchased include a four-course meal with
free-flow cocktails, wine and beer.
