Last week, there was an unusual sight on Rongxian highway in Sichuan—13 monks were seen marching in a single line. Their destination? Sichuan's Mount Emei.

Trekking through Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei and Chongqing, the monks finally arrived in Sichuan province after 86 days of walking from their starting point in Shanghai. At the finish line, the monks, aged 18 through 48, will have traveled 2,600 kilometers across the varying terrains of six provinces.

It's unclear whether or not the monks are walking back to Shanghai.
