From the turquoise shallows of the Indian Ocean to the moody glow of Dongshankou’s cocktail dens, a new collaboration invites Guangzhou’s curious drinkers to explore the Maldives through taste, texture, and design.
Hope & Sesame and DSK Cocktail Club have partnered with Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, to present a limited-edition cocktail series running from August 15 to September 15.
The menu draws on Patina’s natural palette—pandan leaves, reef minerality, tropical fruit—and reimagines it through the lens of Guangzhou’s award-winning mixology scene.
Cocktails That Echo the Island’s Rhythm
Each drink is a sensory vignette.
Pa/High channels the crisp green breath of pandan at sunrise, layered with tropical fruit and a whisper of cardamom.
Minerality evokes the reef’s saline complexity, conjuring the sensation of diving into waters filtered by coral.
DSK’s lineup features fruit-forward cocktails that combine tropical ingredients with Eastern flavors, creating drinks that are both exotic and comforting.
Design, flavor, and shared philosophy Patina Maldives, Fari Islands designed by Marcio Kogan, is a study in quiet luxury and elemental beauty.
Its ethos—where stillness meets vitality—resonates with Hope & Sesame’s own approach: understated, experimental, and deeply attuned to place.
The collaboration began with a masterclass at Patina Maldives, Fari Islands in June and will continue into 2026, when Hope & Sesame returns to the Maldives for a Chinese New Year celebration infused with music, art, and festive flavors.
“From the coral reefs of the Maldives to the historic alleys of Guangzhou, our teams have created a dialogue through cocktails,” says Anthony Gill, General Manager of Patina Maldives.
