25-year-old Lu Kepeng of Qingdao is a wedding planner, so he’s used to all the white dresses and all the other traditional wedding accoutrements. For his own wedding, though, he wanted to come up with something different. How could he make his wedding photos stand out?

The answer, he soon realized, was floating right above his nose. Balloons. All. The. Balloons.

Lu stitched together some 600 balloons to make two wedding dresses for Su Xuenuo, his fiancée. One colorful and white-dotted, the other all white.

He claims to have gone through all this effort and crafted such unusual garb to prove his dedication to her, and to their future.

She reacted well, and chose to don the colorful dress as they waltzed through the streets of Qingdao, raising many an eyebrow.

For the actual wedding photo shoot, however, she wore the white bubbly gown.
