Perfect Takeaway Dinners Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner on Friday, February 14. This year will be different, as many restaurants are canceling their festive events, but it doesn’t have to be any less romantic. 

Stay in with that special someone during the quarantine and order dinner to be delivered straight to your door. (Well, you might have to go outside to pick it up... and don’t forget that mask!) Here are a few spots that will have takeaway deals or themed specials for the day:

Bottega

Bottega has an adorable Valentine’s Day menu available for delivery from both locations. Treat yourself and your significant other to grilled octopus with crispy baby potatoes, pan-fried barramundi, homemade gnocchi, heart-shaped pizza and more.

Hatsune has a sweet sushi set menu prepared for the lovey-dovey day. Order the Love Bites multi-course dinner and enjoy a trio of appetizers, salad, sashimi, soup, hand rolls, assorted tempura and more this Valentine’s Day.

Casa Talia

Chic restaurant Casa Talia has two discounted set menus (RMB398 and RMB598, originally RMB660 and RMB1010) available for dinner. Eat your heart out with tapas like patatas bravas, Iberian ham croquettes and prawns in garlic and chili oil, and indulge in mains like charcoal-grilled Australian black angus sirloin steak and Argentinian prawn and seafood paella. Sets include dessert and a bottle of house red wine.

Annie’s

While its physical locations remain closed, expat-favorite Italian eatery Annie’s is taking all the precautions to make sure takeaway orders are safely delivered right to you. The restaurant has deals on classic dishes like mixed salad with rosemary chicken legs, risotto with chicken, mushroom and shrimp, Italian ham pizza and tiramisu.

Slow Boat Brewery

Pig out at home with juicy Slow Boat burgers like the famous Fryburger or the Lao Thai Thai, shareable bites like chicken wings and your favorite craft brews. Both locations are delivering, though freshly canned beer is only available to order from the Sanlitun brewpub.

Tiago Home Kitchen & Tiago Select

Gaze lovingly at your partner while you munch on a discounted Tiago set dinner (RMB398 and RMB498, originally RMB594 and RMB844). The lavish five-course menus feature San Daniele ham with juicy melon, Sicialian seafood salad, fresh salmon with vegetables, squid-ink seafood risotto, rustica-parma mushroom pizza with truffle sauce and sweet Italian wild berry panna cotta.

The French restaurant has several takeaway set menus on offer from three to five courses (RMB168 and RMB228 respectively), as well as a special Valentine’s Day set menu for two (RMB988). Enjoy an arugula salad with seasonal fruits and yuzu-apple dressing, mushroom soup with black truffle cream, a whole Boston lobster with gigli pasta and more, all in the comfort of your own home. Dessert includes a lychee rose and raspberry mousse cake, with homemade canneles to share.

What’s more, Hulu is extending its free delivery radius just in time for Valentine’s Day. Feast on savory appetizers like steak tartare and Iberico ham with arugula, hearty mains like pumpkin risotto and pan-fried seabass and end on a sweet note with cute desserts to impress your sweetheart.
