After a hiatus post-brickings, hutong favorite noodle joint Pang Mei popped back up in their previous location. The menu is still the same, while the pristine interior has taken on a new futuristic form and appears to mimic what a school canteen might look like if it were set inside a spaceship. All the stellar signature offerings we’ve been craving are here: Chongqing-style spicy noodles and beef noodles, priced modestly from RMB14 and up, along with an assortment of sides and snacks. Be ready to join the queue for both lunch and dinner before you can get a taste – it’s worth the wait.
