Mifan or Mafan: El Nido

By That's Beijing, July 13, 2018

Hutong favorite beer bar El Nido has risen from brickening ashes. Laowai mourned its death after the razing of Fangjia Hutong’s bars last year, but 2018 is a new chapter, and El Nido has reopened within the confines of The Other Place (another hutong hangout – apologies if you live in Chaoyang and don’t understand this paragraph). The imported draft beer selection is equal parts inventive and delicious – though pricey for your average Yanjing-swilling hutong hipster (RMB50 and up). El Nido 2.0 also boasts an extensive whiskey menu, and the perfect courtyard to swill it in.
