Interior designers, developers, retailers and lovers of all things aesthetic, get excited because Design Shanghai is coming back this March for its sixth edition at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. (For more details on how to win free tickets, scroll to the bottom of this post!)
Bringing in over 400 international brands from 32 countries, you’ll be able to see the best, brightest and newest developments (and products) in the industry, in what’s become Asia’s largest design event.
While the fair highlights the industry at a global scale, it also spotlights Chinese designers, including emerging Chinese brands like WUU, Urbancraft, PUSU, Haostyle and many more. This year, from March 6-9, they’ll expand their exhibition space by 20 percent, developing a new wing for New Materials and Applications, in addition to a collaboration with the founder of YANG DESIGN, the ‘Floating Life’ glass series.
There are also plenty of world-class installations to look forward to at this year's event, including Timothy Oulton Studio’s moon landing-inspired ‘Apollo,' Zhang Zhoujie's 'Digital Cabinet,' a 7-meter-high interactive piece of furniture integrating light and sound, the third edition of PINWU design studio's highly-anticipated art installation 'The Lake,' Portuguese lighting brand Serip's the 'Forest of Light' and 'Virtual Landscape' by YANG House, which explores home decor, transportation, the workplace and food.
