That's Shanghai takes a look at some of the best upcoming F&B events: 


Sep 15-Oct 31: Oktoberfest at Geneva

Oktoberfest is a big deal at Geneva. The traditional German celebration call for a giant feast and this one showcases a 4-5kg suckling pig with side dishes and mini desserts. Free-flow is also an option,  so go in hungry, get hammered and arrive home happy.

Sep 24-Oct 7 : Free Apéro at Le Bouchon

Book a table at Le Bouchon during Golden Week and get a free apéro to drink. Beat the crowds with friends, or even by yourself. There is no need to hurry, as Le Bouchon will remain open every day of the week, from 6pm to 10.30pm.

Sep 26-29: 28 HKS at the Ritz

28 Hong Kong Street is one of Singapore's hidden gems. It’s one of those places you hear about from a friend, like a best-kept secret you feel privileged to know. Ever since it opened, it has been on the World’s 50 Best Bars list. Now, 28 HKS is popping up at the Ritz with a guest shift by Lukas Kaufmann, who will serve up a selection of artisanal spirits and American-styled craft cocktails to keep your senses busy. Don’t miss out!

Sep 26: Mid Autumn Festival Cocktails

Join Laura Thomason for a guest shift at Bitter showcasing drinks made of the Mid-Autumn Festival's essential foods and flavors. Case in point, Chang’e’s Offering is an homage to the Chinese moon goddess with an inspired mix of gin, Aperol, pomegranate and pomelo. If rum is more your speed, go for Fly Me to the Moon flavored with oolong tea and apricot brandy. This humpday, let these smooth cocktails ease you gently into the autumn season.

Sep 26: El Rey de Barrio

This week, FUNKA del Sur is launching the first in a series of monthly guest chef events. This time, Chef Abel Matos (formerly of The Chop Chop Club) is joining Chef Hugo Rodriguez for a four-hands menu of Peruvian street food standards. Expect spicy ceviche de carretilla, delicious cow heart skewers (anticuchos), Brasa-style roast chicken and more. Of course, they haven't forgotten the drinks to wash it all down. Choose classic or fruit versions of iconic Peruvian beverages: Chilcanos or Pisco Sours.

Sep 26: Mami Chula Night

In Spanish, ‘Mami Chula’ means a sexy lady and this month Chef Ling, of Latin Woo and Pirata fame,  is bringing some of her passion to Tomatito. Come prepared for a lively evening where Cuban pintxos collide with that signature Tomatito flair.

Sep 27: el Pasiòn del Thursday

Love is in the air at FUNKA del Sur. Start the night out with some liquid passion via a signature Pasión del Sur Cocktail (rum and passionfruit) then let Chef Hugo set your taste buds on fire with a selection of Latin canapés. An all-night happy hour allows you to relax and enjoy yourself. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll meet someone special.

Sep 27: Golden Week Bingo on the Bund

Test your luck at Mr & Mrs Bund's legendary Bingo Night. Sep 28: Italian Natural Wine Party

The ever approachable Wine Lips is back with a natural wine party at the Parlour. This time, they've got four interesting Italian wines on offer including Tenuta di Valgiano with notes of pink grapefruit and lychees or try an Arianna Occhipinti calling to mind cherry with a hint of spice. As part of the deal, you get a hot pizza fresh from the disco ball oven. China Social Club is sending its DJs to make Fridays more exciting than ever, with fusion, jazz and plenty of Italo disco!

Sep 29: Terrace Launch at Bird

Bird is finally launching their fabulous terrace just in time for Autumn. Hurry over and enjoy the comfortable temperatures before Shanghai winter sets in al fresco with a cocktail in hand. First two drinks (spritz, wine, beer or dry cider) on them!

Sep 30: BrewDog Golden Week Tap Takeover

Self-appointed leaders of the craft beer revolution, BrewDog will be taking over the taps at Roadhouse. The stellar lineup of beer includes three of their headliners (Punk IPA, Jet Black Heart Oatmeal Milk Stout and the sessionable Indie Pale Ale) as well as a grapefruit-infused Elvis Juice American Pale Ale and brand-new seasonal – bright and pithy – Clockwork Tangerine IPA.  Available while supplies last, so don't delay.

Sep 1-30: Cocktails for Pangolins
