Aug 1: Kid Francescoli
French electronic band Kid Francescoli comes
to Shanghai for a show at MAO Livehouse. Comprised of
keyboardist/vocalist Mathieu Hocine, singer/songwriter Julia Minkin and
drummer Mathieu Cheretien, they are known for romantic and uplifting
electropop.

Aug 3: Cabaret Soiree
The
Pearl continue their new season of Cabaret Soirees this week. Let their new host, Jeremy (the Penguin)
guide you through a sensory overload of live performances. Happy hour

Aug 3: Greg Fleet
Shanghai
Comedy Club brings over Australian comedian Greg Fleet, who is known
for veering skillfully between high-octane jokes, biting political
satire and personal stories for an in-depth and unforgettable show. Catch

Aug 3: R3hab
R3hab
is a Dutch EDM producer known for hits like 'Pump the Party' and
'Prutata,' a collaboration with Afrojack. He has a weekly radio show on
Sirius XM called I NEED R3HAB and released his first studio album,

Aug 3: Asian Vibes China Debut Series: Ryuji Takeuchi
For their first show at ALL as part of a new series bringing underground acts
from around Asia for their debut Shanghai performance, Asian Vibes
hosts Japan's industrial techno pioneer Ryuji Takeuchi. His sound is
known for its mix of EBM, industrial, grunge, noise, distortion and
metal.

Aug 3: Popasuda
The latest Popasuda night goes down at Dada this weekend. Head there for an epic 8-hour set of global bass, reggae and dancehall from around the world mixed by Skinny Brown.

Aug 4: Jean-Michel Jarre - The Concerts in China
Held in a secret location near People's Square, Atomic Krew's Absurde Seance hosts this screening of The Concerts in China, a documentary about the 1981 China tour of French electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre. One of the first foreign artists to perform in Reform era China, he played for upwards of 120,000 people in Beijing and Shanghai. Cover price includes 4 vodka-based drinks.

Aug 4-5: G.E.M Queen of Hearts Tour
Hong
Kong pop star G.E.M. (short for Get Everybody Moving) comes to Shanghai
for two shows at the Mercedes-Benz Arena as part of her Queen of Hearts
Tour. Known for finishing second place in the 2014 edition of Chinese
reality show I Am a Singer, she also was the only Asian artist listed on
the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016.

Aug 5: Single Dogs Social Club
Promoters Single Dogs Social Club bring together an eclectic line-up of Shanghai and China-based bands at Mao Livehouse. Punk band HEY!LILY! is joined by Polyphozia, a post-grunge band led by the singer of American band Fuck Your Birthday, emo band Minds of Billy and electrofunk band Alepay.
