Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...
We have it on good authority that the dreaded plum rain season is about to descend on Shanghai. The East Asian rainy season or meiyu (literally plum rains), which usually lasts from mid-June until the beginning of July are named as such because the rains usually coincide with when plums become ripe in the area south of the Yangtze River. See our Plum Rains Explainer here.
