Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...

Despite the heat and humidity ramping up in Shanghai, we're set for more rain and storms in the coming week, reports Shanghai Daily

Heavy downpours and even thunderstorms are due later and through the remainder of the week. The daily highs are likely to remain in the region of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, with lows of 25 to 26 degrees.

The warm front signifies the official start of the dashu, or great heat. The word comes from the traditional East Asian calendar which divides a year into 24 solar terms. Dashu traditionally lasts from July 23 until August 8.
