A tunnel collapsed on a Chinese worker in Hunan Province earlier this week leaving him buried alive.

A painstaking rescue operation was launched after a tunnel collapsed on a Chinese worker leaving him buried five meters below the ground

The rescue, carried out by firemen and colleagues, took two hours.

During which time the unidentified man waited, entombed by five meters of debris.

Colleagues and emergency services frantically work together to free the victim of the cave-in

When he was eventually freed, the man was taken away on a stretcher and immediately conveyed to hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
