After a day of heavy rainfall in Beijing, as of 4pm on August 1 the ongoing natural disaster in the region has resulted in the tragic loss of 11 lives, while 13 individuals are still reported missing, as reported by People's Daily.
The fatalities occurred in different districts, with four in Mentougou District, four in Changping District, two in Fangshan District, and one in Haidian District.

Current Situation
So far, the deluge has affected more than 40,000 people across 13 districts in Beijing, while around 127,000 individuals who were at risk have been successfully relocated.
The risk of flooding remains a major concern, as the meteorological department predicts that the entire region will continue to experience heavy rainfall.
High-risk flooding river areas include:
The Gu Cheng River, from Gu Cheng East Bridge to Xiangcunying Dam entrance
The Gui River, from Lanhe Dam entrance to Kangzhang Road Bridge
Other rivers are also experiencing rising water levels.

As a precautionary measure, the district government plans to release a large volume of water from the Huairou Reservoir on the afternoon of August 1.
Over 1,800 Stranded Passengers on Two Trains
In the late morning of July 31, two trains, K396 and Z180, encountered severe water damage on the Beijing Fengtai to Shacheng Railway line.
As a result, more than 1,800 passengers found themselves stranded and were forced to disembark for safety.

By 1pm, all 1,870 passengers and 68 railway staff members have been successfully evacuated to safer locations.
Rainfall Continues Moving North & Northeast
While Beijing grapples with the consequences of the typhoon's impact, other regions in China are also facing challenging weather conditions.
According to reports from the China Meteorological Administration, tonight – August 1 – onwards, there will be heavy rain, thunderstorms, high winds, and even hail in the northeastern part of Inner Mongolia, southern Heilongjiang, Jilin, and central-northern Liaoning.
From the afternoon of August 1 to August 5, Jilin Province is forecasted to encounter significant precipitation, with short-duration heavy rainfall and thunderstorm winds, resulting in severe convective weather.
