You might not have heard, but Chinese rappers most certainly have freestyle. The question is, does Sweden?
In another twist to the difficult diplomatic situation developing between China and the Scandinavian country, CD Rev's Pissy (yep) has released a freestyle called 'Hey Sweden, Hey Sweden' which, amongst other things, takes aim at Swedish brands like Ikea, Ericsson and English First, an English-language training center.
Don't get us wrong, we here at That's wholeheartedly love a good rap beef, and while Pissy's English-language flow and catchy beat had our hands in the air, we feel that if it were to come to a freestyle battle that Sweden's Yung Lean would put up a good fight.
The video was uploaded to Youtube four days ago and has thus far netted almost 8,000 views. The QQ video version has in excess of 12,000 plays.
You can watch the video below (VPN off):
A member of Chengdu rap group CD Rev, Li 'Pissy' Yijie joined up with Chuckie, N.O.G and Roy (strangest name of the bunch, we think) to form the rap group on the Chinese National Day, October 1, in 2015.
As we previously reported, the Chinese government are seeking an apology from Swedish comedy sketch show, Svenska Nyheter, in response to their travel segment which mocked Chinese tourists.
The show has now offered two apologies to the Chinese embassy, both of which have been rejected, the second of which was called 'hypocritical and insincere.'
