A Beijing man has been charged with hacking his 13 year old to death over her 'obsession' with South Korean band EXO

The 41-year-old father surnamed Li fell into a rage when his daughter screamed “I love the stars rather than parents” during a quarrel on November 8, the report said.

Li grabbed a kitchen knife and hacked his daughter in the neck, the report said. The girl was pronounced dead at hospital. Li, who tried to commit suicide by slashing his wrist, alerted police afterward, the report said.

According to the Jinghua Times, the girl had spent "a lot of money" to attend an October EXO concert in South Korea, and Li believed his daughter's academic record was suffering due to her obsession with the band, so he murdered her.
