Spring has sprung! You could even say that we’ve fast forwarded to summer with this recent onslaught of lovely hot, hot weather. To awaken your tastebuds, Magpie has just released their new spring menu, filled with inventive, original plates like ‘adult shaokao’ and garlic flavored ice cream. Chef-owner Cadence Gao describes ‘adult shaokao’ as “all the flavors of being rip-roaring drunk and eating high octane BBQ meat in the middle of the ghetto” – enough said. If you’d like something on the lighter side (but still with savory shavings of bacon) there’s the closest thing that Magpie has ever done to a salad, the ‘smokehouse leftovers.’
