General Manager Billy Zhang is new to Shenzhen, but by no means new to hospitality.
A proven industry whiz with decades of experience, Zhang was recently named the new general manager at Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay and has lofty goals for the beautiful bayside resort just one hour northeast of the city center.

What makes Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay unique?
Our aim is for guests to experience the hi-tech amenities of the hotel while also incorporating local culture so they can truly appreciate the area they are staying in. Golden Bay, one of the top eight domestic bays in China, lies in Shenzhen’s Dapeng New District. It’s a very unique resort hotel property compared with city hotels in Shenzhen, turning this unique place into an ultimate luxury destination for both leisure seekers and business travelers. We are also the first five-hotel in the area, with a large-scale theme park slated to open in 2020.

What experiences can Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay provide for leisure travelers?
Leisure travel is a major focus of our resort, providing guests with a genuinely fun and satisfying experience. Additionally, leisure travel spending globally is growing faster than business travel spending. With the rapid growth in leisure travel, our M Passport program was designed to give families brilliant memories for years to come. The M Passport Program is designed for kids aged 4-12 years to engage and support them on their journey of growth. We created plenty of activities for kids and their parents, including Golden Bay starfish junior chef cooking classes, scavenger hunts, mini golf, face painting, art classes and much more. We have our own weekly activity calendar and continue to update it with fresh new ideas, combining with local culture elements and unique selling points. We can accomplish this by also working with the local government and designing activities for kids to learn about the hotel’s wonderful surroundings. We warmly welcome kids and their families to join us for different activities and can receive fun treats and rewards.
