Apr 12: Batu x Ploy with Special Guest: object blue @ Oil
Described by the venue owners as their biggest show since their one year anniversary, we are also extremely thrilled to be welcoming three fantastic producers to Shenzhen this month. Batu, the Bristol-based owner of Timedance label, was named amongst Mixmag’s top 20 DJs of 2017, while Ploy’s insatiable bongo-based tunes, as on Ramos / Roy’s Rolls, are instant dancefloor crackers. Beijing-raised, London-based object blue, on the other hand, is a woman rising to the top of the global experimental scene at the moment, thanks to fantastic releases on Tobago Tracks and Let’s Go Swimming in 2018.

Robedoor is made up of Alex Brown and Britt Brown (Britt is the founder of influential underground tape/vinyl label Not Not Fun), who have a style falling between noise, doom, drone and industrial. Very loud, powerful and intense stuff.

Apr 13: Benjamin Damage @ Oil
Benjamin Damage’s roots lie firmly within the UK’s underground. Drawing on everything from early rave and jungle, to ’90s house, Benjamin’s non-purist approach to techno produces an energy and emotion rarely found in modern electronic music. After the closure of his former label, 50Weapons, Damage joined up with the R&S crew. In celebration of 35 years of R&S music, the folks at Hoodoo bring Benjamin Damage, along with Shanghai Ultra, to Shenzhen for a top evening of techno music.

Apr 13: Lucky Tapes @ B10

Following on from the release of their latest album, dressing, city popsters Lucky Tapes bring funk and mellow vibes back to China this month. After a successful China tour in 2018, it’s more than likely that this show will sell out very fast, so get your hands on a ticket as soon as you can.

Apr 14: Wild Nothing @ Hou Live

The brainchild of pop maestro Jack Tatum, Wild Nothing are another dreamy indie rock act set to hit Shenzhen this April. With a new album, Indigo, under his belt, Tatum’s deliciously crafted atmospheric pop will surely appeal to Chinese fans.
