A number of major roads in Nanshan District are set to be affected by construction on Shenzhen Metro line 12’s Chuangye Lu Station, which broke ground on January 5 at 12pm.

A portion of Chuangye Lu, running from the road’s intersection with Nanhai Dadao to Nanshan Dadao, will be closed for the next 24 months. In addition to this section of road, a number of nearby thoroughfares, such as Dongbing Lu, Dengliang Lu and Haide Erdao, will be affected by increased traffic levels as a result of the Chuangye Lu closure.

Shenzhen Metro officials have asked residents to keep an eye out on traffic updates for the area in order to avoid undue inconvenience.

Line 12 will connect Shekou in Nanshan District with Shajing in North Bao’an District and is due to open in 2022. Line 12 will run for 33 stations and will cover over 40 kilometers of track from beginning to end, all of which will be underground.

It is one of a number of new metro lines which are currently under construction as part of phase four of Shenzhen's vast plan to improve urban rail services in the city.
