Virgin Suicide may or not be named after Jeffrey Eugenides' novel of the (almost) same name, we are not sure, but what we can say is that their style resembles that tale of teenage woe. This Danish band are a sickly sweet dose of raw adolescent romance and, no matter what age you are, there's something nostalgic and beautiful about first loves and loves lost. Supported by Thin City on the evening.

Tue Nov 20, 8.30pm. RMB100 presale, RMB120 at the door. Hou Live. See event listing. Tickets.

Although both were born in the 1980s, Jing Huan and Chen Xi’s resumes read like that of far older musicians: Jing is the principal conductor of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra while Chen is the first prize winner of the 2002 International Tchaikovsky Competition. The works they’ll perform include Felix Mendelssohn’s ‘Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64’ and ‘Petrushka’ by Igor Stravinsky.
