When London's Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) first announced it was opening a design-centered space in Shenzhen, China, it made international headlines.
The renowned establishment lends not only expertise but also items from its expansive collections to the Sea World Culture and Arts Center, which opened last December.
Next Wednesday, the center will also see a visit from V&A Director Dr. Tristram Hunt, a historian and journalist as well as politician – prior to his current job, he served as a member of British Parliament.
Hunt, who has published four nonfiction books, will deliver a lecture titled 'V&A: A Museum for the Future.' Appropriately enough, he'll cover the history of the V&A, from its founding in 1851 to its latest iteration in the PRD.
He'll also discuss the museum's mission to promote and support design plus, presumably, how that ties into the organization's future.
