A 24-year-old woman in Shenzhen is claiming her baby doesn’t have a father.
After fainting on the morning of November 16, Guangxi-native Lin Shuping was taken to the Second People’s Hospital where—to her apparent surprise—she gave birth to a healthy 2.3 kilogram baby girl, according to a Tencent News report.
Ms. Lin said she doesn't have a boyfriend and hasn’t ‘come in contact’ with any men.
The hospital has said Ms. Lin is unable to pay her medical bills and unable to contact relatives, according to the report.
Ms. Lin's claims might sound bizarre and absurd, but they highlight a lack of sex education in China that has led to problems such as an increase teenage HIV cases in Guangzhou.
