Shenzhen International Amateur Football League in association with Light Nightclub is already four games into the season and the competition is really getting intense. InterShenzhen FC and Lunatics both maintain 100 percent records, with many fans viewing one of them as likely to emerge as the winner of the inaugural SIAFL season. However, there are still 10 games to come and anything can and quite possibly will happen. After all, this is football!

World United and the Wild Geese sit below the frontrunners (5 and 6 points respectively), and with some hard work and a slice of luck they could quite possibly close the gap in the coming weeks. Colombian Dream picked up their first win of the season this week against the SWIS and are now tied with the SZ Tigers with 4 points after the Tigers battled out a well fought 2-2 draw with World United on Monday night.

Last week the Dog and Duck were unlucky not to take all three points against Colombian Dream, but will be pleased to have taken their first point of the season after a disappointing start. Their fighting spirit lives on and it's nice to see the whole team go through a warm-down session together after each game, no matter the result.

Finally, the SWIS team, comprising English teachers from the city, are gaining great experience as the weeks go on and results seem to be improving. Respect to the team that was only put together in the weeks leading up to the start of the league.

InterSZ, the most experienced team in the league in terms of years playing in SZ, are on fire in front of goal, hitting the back of the net 36 times in only four games. Half the goals have come from best friends Razavan and Marek with nine each; they also stand as top scorers in the league. The pair are surely battling it out to pick up the SIAFL golden boot at the end of the season, though perhaps Moussa of the Wild Geese will have something to say about that, as he stands just one goal behind them on eight.

People who have been looking for a way to compete against other expat teams in the city are loving this league and the spirit in which it is competed. The teams are entering an important part of the season right now where points are crucial, as each team vies for a higher position in the league.
