Town Crier! Shanghai's new Polar theme park will be 'the biggest in the world'

Work on Shanghai's Polar Ocean World will start before the end of the year in Lingang New City in Pudong the Shanghai Daily reports.

But that's not all. Developers have now revealed the park is set be the biggest in the world, with as many as 500 species of polar animals and 20,000 types of fish in situ. Emperor penguins, polar bears, dolphins and beluga wales are all on the invitation list.

Killer whales will be performing tricks in a large pool and other enclosures will be home to sharks, penguins and coral. We'd be quite excited about this, had we not seen the movie Blackfish (VPN on).

Apparently there will be four performance areas, four cinemas, plus the obligatory hotels and shops. Let's hope the safely and happiness of the animals is paramount to money making here people!
