On Monday, September 4, the Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong community gathered for its 20th Anniversary Birthday Bash!

Students, staff, and parents celebrated 20 years of Making a Difference. Together on the DCS Big Field they spelled out a message big enough to be seen from the sky: DULWICH 20.

The two College founders, Fraser White and Karen Yung, were in attendance. They gave opening addresses and handed out commemorative awards to 14 founding staff who are still with the College today.

"Not only is Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong one of the leading international schools in China and the world, but even more important is the community which has grown up along with it," Mr White said in his address.

"Students, teachers, parents – it is you who make Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong the great place it is to learn and to teach." Happy Birthday, Dulwich Pudong, here's to another 20 years of excellence!”

The BISS Puxi community came together at a wonderful pool party at the beginning of September to celebrate the start of the new school year.

It was a fantastic occasion for the school community to catch up with one another after a long holiday.

The students and their families enjoyed the warm weather, good food and fun in the pool – there were lots of happy faces to be seen!

Not only did everyone have a great time, BISS Puxi also made a big difference to animals in need by raising much needed funds for Jane’s Shelter.

Later in the month, BISS Puxi held its Party in the Park. Over 1,500 visitors enjoyed food and entertainment from some of Shanghai's best international vendors, and funds were once again raised for local animal charities, Jane's Shelter and the Nekoshelter.

Music was provided by Studio 188, who kept people rocking into the evening with their eclectic setlist, and there were plenty of activities keeping the little ones happy, including nine bouncy castles!

It’s been a great start for what will no doubt be a great year, and BISS Puxi looks forward to the many more community events coming up in the calendar, so watch this space!
