Step inside Shanghai’s most up-and-coming food hall, Fantang Food Court on Yanping Lu, and allow your nose to guide you towards the smell of slowly roasting rotisserie chicken. Heat French Rotisserie may have been around for years, but their newest outlet has a revamped menu to fit in with the quicker pace of the area.

Of course you can still find your beloved rotisserie chicken, available in a Quarter Chicken (RMB58), Half Chicken (RMB108) and Whole Chicken (RMB208), but to meet the demands of the mid-day business crowd and the evening drinking contingency, the menu sees the addition of set lunches, snacks, salads and sandwiches & wraps.

Outside of lunch hours, the snack and sando sections have been greatly expanded to help feed the Jing’an area through delivery (Elema and Meituna), and they keep delivering until late.
The full menu is also available to drinkers at nearby Botanical Basket, and the snack menu can be dropped off at La Social until midnight, with hopes of extending that until the wee hours of the morning on weekends.
Fried chicken wings delivered hot at 1am alongside another round of martinis. Yes please.
