May 22-23: The Jesus and Mary Chain Live in Shanghai

One of the most hotly anticipated gigs of the year and it’s… sold out. But, if you managed to grab a ticket, rejoice! Since their long-awaited reunion in 2007, The Jesus and Mary Chain have released several greatest hits compilations, as well as a new studio album Damage and Joy. The alt-rock band continues to shake up the music scene and will play across China for the first time in seven years this month.

May 23: Sophie Zelmani Live in Shanghai

Swedish singer/songwriter Sophie Zelmani lands in Shanghai this spring as part of her Sunrise Tour. Since the release of her self-titled debut album in 1995, audiences around the globe have lauded Zelmani's whispery folk-pop songs about life and love. She'll be performing the heartwarming classics along with new hits from her 2017 album My Song at Modern Sky Lab this weekend.

May 24: Cedric Gervais Live in Shanghai

Bar Rouge will be playing host to one of the hottest names in the house music circuit, Cedric Gervais, the Grammy award-winning French DJ and regular resident at top venues in Miami and Vegas. He will be playing his remarkable house and electronic beats, which have made him one of the most sought-after DJs & music producers worldwide.

May 24: Mamahuhu pres. Friday Night with Friends

Join the folks behind the highly popular video series and comedy troupe, Mamahuhu, for an evening full of belly laughs. With two sessions of the comedy show, one at 8pm and another at 10pm, there’s no reason to miss out on this event.

May 25: China Social Club’s Fifth Birthday at Dada

China Social Club is turning five this Saturday at Dada. They grow up so fast. PCJ and Frau will be raising sails for this voyage with a crew of Knopha and MIIIA in tow. Expect lots of techno, rave and house all night long. China Social Club will also be selling a couple of limited edition CSCull and Crossbones flags on the night.

May 25: Rat Boy

Named as NME’s Best New Artist of 2016, Rat Boy (aka Jordan Cardy) combines alternative rock, accented British vocals and a penchant for rapping, making him reminiscent of the sort of vital music that brought Jamie T to fame. Catch him and his newest album, Internationally Unknown, when he arrives in Shanghai this weekend.

May 26: Angus & Julia Stone Live in Shanghai

Australian indie folk act Angus & Julia Stone have cemented themselves as one of the best songwriting duos around. With albums like Down the Way and their self-titled third album still in heavy rotation among lovelorn romantics, the pair arrive in Shanghai this weekend to play what we can only imagine will be an awesome set.
