Aug 28: Movie Night at The Pearl

Cross dressing, ukeleles, Marilyn Monroe and mobsters, The Pearl is putting on a showing of 'Some Like it Hot' tomorrow night. This comedy classic is a cinematic legend, and there's no cover charge, so that's always a plus. Happy hour runs from 6-7pm.

Aug 20 - 31: A Swedish Summer Romance

If you're planning on hitting Liquid Laundry for their Tuesday night free-flow deal, swing by Nininio first for a peek at this pop-up. Swedish underwear from Bread & Boxers and Gothenburg-based leather from PAP - can you think of a better combo? They're open through the 31, so you've got a few more days to see what they're all about.

Aug 30: Unravel

Unravel is back at WeWork on Weihai Lu for a night of cinematic themed storytelling. They've got some surprises in store, and rumor has it there'll be an afterparty at a secondary location, so book your tickets early if you're looking to go. As always, entry includes a drink.

Aug 30: Gallium Launch Party

Arkham is launching its new art-lounge concept this Thursday with a host of DJs and creative works by three different artists. Going for a chiller vibe than the main stage, you can expect lo-fi, house, vaporwave and a whole lot of downtempo from this batcave. Tickets include a drink, so you can check out one of the club's signature cocktails - we're a fan of the spicy Moscow Mule.

Aug 30: Rent 20th Anniversary Show

The show that revolutionized Broadway is finally starting up their Shanghai run. Jonathan Larson's award-winning musical is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a two and a half week stop in our fair city.

Aug 31: Happy Ending Donut Pop-Up

This late-night donut pop-up on Donghu is a can't miss this weekend. Indulgence on another level, we're talkin' jelly donuts, classics, savory snacks, shot pairings and Peddler's Gin. And just look at that kitsch.

Aug 31: Bacon & Beer Festival

30 live bands, bacon and beer. Lots of it. With plenty of food and drink options, this festival at the Radisson Blu is a surefire way to up your calorie count the fun way. For RMB150 you can drink free-flow, but the standard ticket also includes bacon and one drink.

Aug 31: Martin Jensen

Danish DJ Martin Jensen is a creative powerhouse. With uplifting techno backbeats and lyrics, he's been named one of DJ Mag's top 100 in the world. If you're a fan of EDM, you're probably going to want to check this 25-year-old out.

Sep 1 & 2: Latin Nations Festival

Head to Ala Town for the third edition of Latin Nations. With drinks from Barraco, burritos from La Coyota, tacos from El Santo and so much more good food and drink, you can happily eat your way through the day sampling food from all over. They'll also have raffles that include round trip tickets to Ecuador, Argentina and Mexico.

Sept 1: The Great Summer BBQ

AustCham Shanghai’s annual Summer BBQ is back at Wellington College International Shanghai for a full-day of family-friendly fun. There'll be plenty to eat, drink and keep you entertained, with outdoor games and activities, a live band playing classic Aussie tunes and a raffle with some pretty great raffle prizes up for grabs.
