At monthly storytelling night Unravel, a group of Shanghai raconteurs share authentic and personal true stories inspired by the month's given theme.

April's edition of Unravel goes down this Thursday at URBN Hotel Shanghai in partnership with Green Initiatives. For the theme of 'Human Nature,' storytellers are taking a fresh look at the environment and our place in it.

Unravel founder Clara Davis, who we spoke with last year as part of our 5 Things series, explained to us that "Thursday’s show is an ode to Earth Day – and our tenuous relationship as humans with the nature around and within us."

Storytellers can take the theme in any direction they like, so don't necessarily expect only activist-driven tales. The stories this month span family dynamics, medical mysteries, natural disasters and commitments to shaping the planet's future.

Davis also let us know that one of the night's storytellers will be Raefer Wallis, a pioneer in sustainable architecture who's behind the environtmentally-friendly design of the night's venue: China’s first carbon neutral hotel, URBN.

Stop by and see for yourself what 'Human Nature' means to a handful of Shanghai storytellers. Cover price includes a drink.

April, 26, 6.30pm drinks, 7.30pm stories. RMB50 presale, RMB60 door. URBN Hotel Shanghai, see event listing.
