Aug 16: Cocktail Cinema
Cocktail Cinema is pairs specialty cocktails with a movie, this month's movie being The Prestige, and is held at an undisclosed location. This month's bartender, Chris Xi of Blackstone Magic Bar, will be crafting the cocktails to be enjoyed with the film.

Aug 16 (&22): Shanghai SIPG vs Guangzhou Evergrande
Trophy chasing arch rivals Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande play each other an incredible four times in the next few weeks: home and away in the FA Cup semi final, and home and away in the AFC Champions League quarter final. Will the departure of Guangzhou’s Brazilian midfielder Paulinho to Barca swing the ties in Shanghai’s favor? Get along to the Shanghai Stadium to find out.

Aug 18-19: Zainab Johnson
Zainab Johnson is a comedian from New York who is noted for her several web series, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Last Comic Standing. She was also a featured performer on All Def Comedy on HBO Last Fall. Make sure to catch her performance at Kung Fu Komedy Club this week!

Aug 19: Ruby Rose
Famous for her performances in popular Netflix series Orange is the New Black and action film John Wick: Chapter 2, Ruby Rose is a woman of many talents. Also a model and a DJ, Rose will be showing off her DJ skills at M2 this weekend. Hurry and get a ticket, because this international superstar's show will sell out fast!

Aug 19: ShPFF Special Screening
Six of the best films, some being winners and others were top favorites, from the ShPFF Chinese Short Film Competition will be shown for a special screening this weekend! Many people said they appreciated the quality and message these films offered, coming from the LGBTQ film marathon. Thanks to Modern Art Base, those who missed out on these short films have a chance to see them for one night!

Aug 19: Future of the Left
As one of the final pre-shows before their Concrete & Grass festival next month, Split Works hosts a local music showcase at Yuyintang. Featured bands include punk rock trio Lao Ayi, math rock duo Foster Parents, and psych-rock band Mirrors from Shanghai, plus Qie from Hangzhou.

Aug 19: RP Boo
Credited as having essentially invented the genre of footwork in Chicago in the mid-90s, RP Boo has flown under-the-radar until a few years ago - around the time he dropped his debut EP, Legacy, in 2013. Past shows of his in Shanghai have been high-energy affairs, with Boo coming out from the DJ booth and dancing with the crowd. Don't miss his set at ALL.

Aug 19: Zhu
S.T.D. brings over the rising star producer and singer Zhu, who has been active since 2014 and released his first tracks while keeping his identity anonymous. His breakout track 'Faded' was nominated for a Grammy in 2015. He's performed at Coachella and Ultra Miami and collaborated with Skrillex. Catch his show at Arkham.

Aug 19: Three Years of Parties
The China Social Club, comprised of Aussie DJ duo PCJ and Frau are celebrating three years by throwing a party at Smash. Drink some champagne to celebrate their third anniversary, and even sweeter, it's free entry!

Aug 19: Sasha's Craft Beer Day
