16 new bus routes are being established in the Pudong New Area to link with new Metro Line 16, which is set to start running by the end of the year, reports Shanghai Daily.

Pudong traffic authorities said all 11 stations on the new metro line will link with the bus services. The first phase of Line 16 runs from Luoshan Road, the terminus of Line 11, to Dishui Lake in the Nanhui area.

In addition to the new bus routes, 12 existing services will reroute to include stops by stations. The buses will link stations to residential areas, tourism spots and university campuses, said officials.

When the line first goes into service, it will be operated by 24 trains. In the future, Line 16 will extend to Longyang Road Station to connect with Line 2 and 7, as well as with Line 13's Huaxia Road M. Station.
