La Fête de la Musique returns to Shanghai for three days, from June 23-25.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shanghai and Marseille’s twinning, the festival will kick off at the West Bund Art Center (Hall B) from 6pm to 11.30pm with six bands, three from China (Da Fresh, Duck Fight Goose, ChaCha and Dj Aivilox), and three from Marseille, France (King Krab with his captivating funk, Taiwan MC and his reggae notes and the hypnotizing French 79, with his phantasmagoric electro!)

The opening night is just a start to the weekend celebrations. Shanghai will echo with music from Pudong to Puxi, and a hundred artists (nearly 70 bands) from all over the world will give free concerts around 20 different locations. Not only bars and clubs, but also public parks, malls, restaurants and museums will welcome the artists.

The three-day long event will feature all genres of music, ranging from rock, to electro, pop, jazz, folk, hip hop, world music and plenty more.

Locations encompass remarkable places such as Sinan Mansions, which will host more than 10 bands on June 24 and 25. On the roster are Gypsy Swing from France, rock band Limousine and Kevin, a band from several different countries.
