Truck Smashes Into Shanghai's Iconic Waibaidu Bridge

This morning a heavyweight truck ran into the historic Waibaidu Bridge, which connects Shanghai's Huangpu and Hongkou Districts.

The accident occured around 5am. While the truck was massively damaged, the driver only received minor scratches and no other injuries were reported.

Built in 1907, (and last renovated in 2008), the steel bridge was only slightly skewed from the accident and one fo the sidewalk railings was snapped off.

Traffic resumed as normal after the truck was towed away.
