The standout trumpeter had a stellar 2016 that included live collaborations with Grammy Award winners Gast Waltzing and Eddie Gómez, as well as the release of his excellent sophomore album Initial. Swinging into 2017, he’ll be leading his quartet through a two-night stand at JZ Club with support from Chekov.

Feb 10: Heyday 2 Year Anniversary Show
The refined jazz lounge celebrates its second anniversary in style pairing six of their favorite singers with their ace houseband, the Heyday Trio. Heyday favorites Anne Evenou, Coco Zhao, Chico, Sybil Thomas, Ginger Kwan and Isabelle perform.

Feb 10-11: Jaruco Punk
The newly formed Beijing trio boast a street punk sound ‘with a dash of Weezer.’ They’re taking over Harley’s for a pair of shows with newly formed Shanghai supergroup Old Ayi (featuring Paris’ F, Banana Monkey’s Awu and Zilu’s Axiang). On Friday, hometown punk faves Dirty Fingers will join. Saturday features Shanghai stalwarts Round Eye and Spill Your Guts.

The Japanese bossa nova star has won wide acclaim around the world thanks to her stellar voice and charming presence. She returns to Shanghai Grand Stage for what’s become an annual Valentine’s Day tradition.

Feb 14: Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne
With a legacy that reaches as far back as the 15th century, the prestigious German orchestra presents a special Valentine’s Day concert. This love letter from the Rhine features performances of Beethoven and Mahler.

JZ Club presents a perfect Valentine’s Day gift bringing together the Golden Melody Award winning chanteuse known for her ‘velvet’ voice. She’ll be backed by Shanghai-based jazz-funk stalwarts Red Groove Project, who recently released their sophomore disc as part of JZ Music and Sony China’s trilogy of Shanghai-based jazz albums.
