Rabbit-shaped chairs are being painted to raise money to help schools in remote areas thanks to a new program launched by a local designer outlet.
A thousand of these chairs named Qeeboo rabbit, designed by Stefano Giovannoni will be exhibited in Yi Ou Lai Shanghai Village near the Shanghai Disney Resort.
Chinese artists have joined together, including Li Shoubai and Niu An, to paint different patterns on one hundred of the rabbits, which were donated to Adream, which supports children's education.
Niu Xiao, a representative at Adream says that more than RMB1.1 million (USD160,000) was raised by the non-profit just from the first round of auctions.
Donations will be used towards starting up multimedia classrooms (called the Dream Center) throughout China. They'll be equipped with advanced technologies, such as 3D printers, so that children can have an innovative learning experience encouraging them to exercise their imagination.
