1. Daniel Lee: Manimals

Daniel Lee: Manimals

The Chunking born, Taiwan raised artist brings his popular Manimals series to Pata Gallery in m50. These stark portraits are digitally reworked mixing human and animal forms in striking ways. Opens on Apr 29 at 4pm.

2. Kim Yongwoon: Landscape Sightseeing

Kim Yongwoon: Landcape Sightseeing

Freshly graduated from Sungkyunkwan University, Kim Yongwoon has completed a residency in Barcelona while rising within South Korean contemporary art circles. For her first solo exhibition in the Mainland, she displays works that mixes lingerie material with scenic backdrops. For more, check out our interview with Kim Yongwoon.

3. Daily Formalism

Daily Formalism (Ai Wei Wei)

For their first group show of the year, the dark side of the Bund located BANK hosts this exhibition featuring super stars like Ai Weiwei (see above), Haegue Yang, Evan Roberts and more. Formalism explores the idea of form over meaning in art across a variety of works spanning multiple mediums.

4. 2016 John Moores Painting Prize

2016 John Moores Painting Prize

The winner and the other four finalists of the fourth edition of the biennial John Moores Painting Prize (China) will be announced on March 28 at the opening of this group exhibition. Over 2,850 entires from 34 provinces were submitted. All 81 of the shortlist submissions plus the five prize-winning pieces of the 2014 John Moores Painting Prize in the UK will also be shown.

5. Yuhan Solo Exhibition

Yuhan Solo Exhibition

The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts graduate was included in CIGE Exhibition of Asian Young Artists in 2010 and held a solo exhibition in Germany. After taking some time off to give birth to her daughter, she’s back with a more polished and refined style.

Performing Time

Leo Xu Projects and London’s Pilar Corrias Gallery presents this group exhibition featuring works by Chris Huen, Li Qing, Elizabeth Neel, Ken Okiishi, Shahzia Sikander and Taocheng Wang.
