Oct 21: Ulysses Owens Quartet

NuYorica featuring Dee Dee Bridgewater and Theo Croker

Fresh off a lively JZ Festival, headliner Dee Dee Bridgewater is still in Shanghai and will make a guest appearance at Unico’s Nu Yorica night on October 21. The weekly live music session that pays tribute to the artistic vibes of New York City will be headlined by Bridgewater protege and former Shanghai staple Theo Croker with DRV Funk.

Oct 23: Low Wormwood

The Lanzhou folkies have won major awards for past releases like their stunning sophomore disc, Lanzhou, Lanzhou. Now signed to Modern Sky, they’re toruing the nation to celebrate the release of their eagerly anticipated third album, Midnight Singer.

Oct 23: Frank Bray and his Big Band presents Mafioso Swing

The Pearl’s favorite singer returns in style with this gangster big band night. Backed by a 12-piece big band, Frank Bray will get the crowd swinging the way bosses do. Sport your finest fedoras, dress to impress and dance the night away. Happy hour from 5-8pm. He will also be performing an intimate show at Heyday on October 25.

Oct 25: Fanzui Xiangfa & Bad Nerve

Beijing’s fastcore legends Fanzui Xiangfai are celebrating their ten year anniversary with the Genjing Records released 24-track compilation of their 7” singles. Joining them are Sweden’s 80’s punks Bad Nerve, who are bringing their energetic brand of noisy hardcore punk to China for the first time.

The German gothic metal legends are celebrating their 25th anniversary by touring the world.
