Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...

Here’s your chance to get a couple of laps in and to give back to the community. Actually not really, participation includes walking up a few flights of stairs—but hey same difference.

On Sunday June 28, an estimated 300 runners have the chance to participate in the first annual vertical fun run – Climb for Hope, hosted by Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai. Runners will begin at the bottom of the tower in the lobby of the hotel and ascend 60 floors to the top floor to reach the finish line.

The inaugural event will support children’s health care by donating all proceeds to the Shanghai’s Children’s Medical Centre, who assist in the treatment and care of underprivileged children.

With registration underway, interested participants (aged 18 and over) can pay RMB200, which includes one free T-shirt, warm up instructions from a professional coach and a breakfast box. For more information participants can join Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai’s official WeChat account by scanning the QR code below.

So come out and climb up some stairs for a good cause!
