It's Time For Hepcat's Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest

There have been a few other hot dog eating contests in Shanghai, but none that promise to be an annual affair, like the world famous Nathan's hot dog eating contest in Coney Island (which has its own Wikipedia page, FYI).

Finally, Hepcat, that 50's themed bar on Kangding Lu is bringing this time honored tradition to Shanghai with an annual hot dog eating contest.

Who's competing? Hopefully you.

Organizers tell us they want more participants, so anyone who reckons they're up to the challenge, call 152 1669 5765 or go to Hepcat bar directly and register there.

Entry costs RMB100, for literally as many hot dogs as you can eat.

Now for the goodies:

1st prize: Weekly free hot dog at Hepcat, for one whole year!

2nd prize: RMB1000 Sherpas Voucher!

3rd prize: Booze! A bottle of something nice, according to organizers.

As for the competition, you'll have ten minutes to scarf as many dogs as possible. Spectators can get in on the action with a RMB40 Asahi and hot dog combination. Everyone's a winner.
