An eight-course meal, live music and absinthe to go around - on May 29, the JW Marriott on Tomorrow Square offered a window into Paris in the 1920s.
It was a time of countless authors, painters, photographers and bohemians - and they knew how to eat. The 'Golden Twenties' menu featured luxurious French classics, from foie gras with fig jam to pan-seared halibut and slow cooked black pig.
The JW Marriott's California Grill was transformed into a decadent Parisian restaurant and lounge, with live music, champagne and wine galore and even an oil painter, recording the night's revelry for posterity. The views of Shanghai outside may have been cold and a bit cloudy, but inside, all was warm and exciting.
Following the meal, guests moved up to the JW Marriott's library - the 'Highest Library in the World,' according to the Guinness Book - where a luscious selection of French cheeses, chocolates and other treats were on offer.
This was the third JW Chef's Table themed dinner event, and more are to come - stay tuned for next season's installment. Until then, enjoy these photos of a slice of glamorous 1920's Paris, right here in Shanghai.
