WATCH: World's biggest breakfast in bed held in Shanghai

Remember that time in 2012 when Australia broke the Guinness Book record for "World's Biggest Breakfast in Bed" by hosting 289 people? Nope, neither did we.

But we can now proudly say that China has yanked the title away from the Aussies, after the Pudong Shangri-la hosted an epic 388-strong breakfast last week.

The bed-ridden munching featured many participants from the More Than Aware breast cancer awareness group, who participated 1) because eating with hundreds of people in bed is good fun and 2) to spread the word about their cause. Watch the video here (VPN on): 

The meal itself consisted of some noodles, spring rolls, fruit and a croissant, along with an orange juice. Per the requirements of the record, each bed had to have enough space so that everyone could have a full tray, and all participants had to eat for five minutes (this isn't biggest "snack," dammit, it's a full breakfast.)

An official from the Guinness Book came to verify the record, and presumably made sure that everyone was, in fact, eating breakfast in bed. The crowd passed the test, and have officially been awarded the record. For now...
