Cathay Pacific has officially reopened The Bridge, one of its signature lounges at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), marking the first milestone in a sweeping enhancement plan across its global lounge network.

Located near Departure Gate 35 in Terminal 1, the newly redesigned space introduces a thoughtful blend of modern aesthetics, signature culinary offerings, and upgraded relaxation areas—all designed with a human-centric approach.

The reopening comes ahead of the planned renovation of The Wing, First, which will temporarily close on May 23 and reopen in 2026.

The Deck, another Cathay lounge, will be upgraded and temporarily serve as the First class lounge during that period.

Meanwhile, The Pier lounges—both First and Business—remain fully operational.

This lounge refresh is part of the Cathay Group’s HKD100 billion investment into fleet, lounges, and digital innovation in the coming two years.

Future openings include new flagship lounges in Beijing and, for the first time, in New York.

A Warm, Residential Welcome

Designed to feel more like a curated home than an airport facility, The Bridge now showcases warm cherry wood tones, black granite, travertine textures, and lush greenery.

Original artworks from Cathay’s 'Gallery in the Skies' further contribute to the elevated, residential ambiance.

General Manager of Customer Experience Design Guillaume Vivet described the space as “a retreat designed to enrich the journey and leave a lasting impression.”

From scent and lighting to seating and music, every detail aims to offer comfort and ease to travelers.

The Bridge is also set to be the first Cathay Pacific lounge to introduce biometric check-in, allowing for a quicker, touchless entrance process—although traditional check-in remains available for those who prefer it.

Dining Across Two Worlds

The lounge is split into left and right wings, offering distinct culinary journeys.

On the left wing, guests will find the iconic Noodle Bar, serving up classics like wonton and dan dan noodles, dim sum, and a rotating menu of Chinese regional dishes.

New to this side is The Nook—a cosy dining corner offering small bites such as crispy scallion pancakes, steaming rice rolls, savoury bao, and a mobile dim sum cart for freshly served treats.

On the right wing, a dedicated area for First class passengers and Cathay Diamond members offers added comfort and privacy.

The Food Hall provides a hearty selection of oven-to-plate casseroles like beef bourguignon and Provencal vegetable bakes, alongside fresh pastries, salads, and desserts.

The Bar, featuring panoramic runway views, continues to serve up handcrafted cocktails, barista-made coffees, and Champagne, with friendly bartenders at the helm.

For travelers seeking solitude, the redesigned relaxation area includes Cathay’s signature Solo Chairs—offering both privacy and a moment of calm before takeoff.

As Cathay Pacific continues to roll out its lounge upgrade program worldwide, The Bridge stands as a refreshed symbol of the airline’s commitment to premium service, local flavours, and refined design—all from the heart of its Hong Kong home.

Stay tuned for more updates as Cathay Pacific redefines the lounge experience at home and abroad.
