Recently, a video came out in Changsha, Hunan province, which showed a door shattering on top of a boy after he swung it open while leaving the mall.

Watch the bizarre incident unfold below (VPN off):

Controversy over the shattered door surfaced after the shopping mall claimed that the boy’s unusual pushing method caused the door to break, whereas the boy’s family believe the door cracked because of its poor quality, reported People’s Daily.

The boy was injured due to the shards of falling glass and his family is claiming damages against the mall.

Commentators on Weibo came out largely in defense of the mall. Most netizens commented things like, “This mall is really unlucky,” and “Of course there will be a problem with the door if he pushes it like that.”
