A man in Guizhou province’s Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous prefecture had a code red over the National Day holiday, after he managed to get his arm trapped in a squat toilet.

According to Shanghai-based media outlet Knews, the bathroom incident, which took place on October 3, occurred after the man attempted to save his fish, which had flopped into the toilet. The man’s right arm became stuck after ‘fishing’ in his own toilet for the aquatic animal.

Watch below to see this awkward situation go down (VPN off):

Knews reports that firefighters were called in to bail the man out from the fishy situation, ultimately chiseling out part of the toilet pan in order to free the man’s appendage. After nearly half an hour of hammering away, the man was able to extricate his arm, and fortunately did not suffer any major harm.

As for the fish, its condition and whereabouts are both unclear, although it doesn’t look promising.

While this is by no means the first time someone has gotten stuck in a squat toilet, folks are generally trying to retrieve phones or have taken a wrong step. However, this isn’t the first ‘fish-cident’ either. In October 2018, a man in Hubei province also went toilet fishing for the ‘one that got away,’ after his future dinner slipped from his hands.
