WATCH: Dance Class in China Disrupted by Fire Siren

Firefighters in Guangdong province are quick to answer the call.

That much was clear after a video surfaced online of a team of firefighters in Jieyang clearing their station’s gymnasium in the middle of a group dance lesson after the fire station siren went off. While this is simply what they do (and quite well, we’d like to add), the real kicker was the dance instructor’s reaction.

With her headphones on and back to the class, the woman continued on with the movements for roughly 10 seconds after the room had already cleared. In the video, some of the firefighters appear to hesitate as the siren abruptly turns on, with several of them chuckling as they leave the instructor in the dust.

The teacher’s expression – once she finally turns around – can be best described as dumbfounded.

After the video made its way online, one firefighter told KanKan news, “Hearing the siren and moving is the most fundamental duty of firefighters. Within one minute of the siren, the fire truck needs to be out of the station with firefighters on board. Regardless of what you’re doing, as soon as you hear the bell ring, you got to move.”

One Weibo user likened the scene to a deliveryman receiving a new order while others expressed skepticism about the video’s authenticity. “Today’s promotional material is getting better and better,” another person commented, referring to the short clip as an staged act.

However, we’re willing to bet its not the first time something like this has happened.
