PHOTOS: Newborn Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey Debuts at Guangzhou Zoo

Guangzhou’s Chimelong Safari Park greeted a new member of their growing family of golden snub-nosed monkeys on Monday, according to numerous media reports.

The family of primates now includes a father, three mothers and 10 offspring.

In the wilds of central China, the golden snub-nosed monkey lives at elevations ranging from 1,800-2,700 meters, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. There are between 8,000 and 10,000 members of the species living in the wild, and the golden snub-nosed monkey is not considered in “immediate danger” of going extinct.
